On 30 October 2020, 25 delegates from Yonsei University Mirae Campus visited the ASEAN Hall at the ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC). The delegates came to learn about roles of international organizations in the field of public diplomacy.

The program began with the showcase of the AKC introductory video to give introduction on Centre’s activities and continued with the welcoming speech by Secretary-General Lee Hyuk. Lee Kyeong-A, Director of ASEAN Hall, then made a presentation on ASEAN, ASEAN-Korea relations, and AKC’s activities.

Through the ASEAN Golden Bell Quiz, students tested their knowledge on ASEAN. In the discussion session, the ASEAN officials seconded to the ASEAN-Korea Centre and Kim He-jin, Head of Information and Data Unit, as well as the delegates exchanged their views on the incentives and the potential for Korea to invest in ASEAN, ASEAN roles in achieving peace in the Korean Peninsula, ASEAN’s awareness on Korea, the public diplomacy to promote Korean awareness on ASEAN, and the Centre’s public diplomacy programs.

The ASEAN-Korea Centre conducts the Youth Visit program with the aim of raising the awareness of ASEAN and ASEAN-Korea partnership among youths from primary school to university level.

In the situation of COVID-19, the Centre is conducting youth visit programs in strict compliance with the preventive measure guidelines and taking thorough disinfection and sterilization measures for each visit.
