The ASEAN-Korea Centre and Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) hosted the ‘Webinar on Trade Facilitation on F&B Industry between ASEAN and Korea’ on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. The event was held both online and offline in accordance with social distancing regulations and was livestreamed through the ASEAN-Korea Centre’s YouTube channel.
During the event, F&B companies and related government officials from ASEAN and Korea shared best practices for entering ASEAN and Korean markets. Discussions on effective ways to utilize the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) were also some of the key highlights of the event.
The Seminar covered wider areas that are important for accelerating regional trade relations with special lectures on “Plant Quarantine Procedures,” “Safety Control Policy for Imported Foods in Korea,” “Import Customs Procedures,” “Sourcing F&B market trend in Korea,” “Sourcing trend of Coffee market in Korea,” and “Case Study on ASEAN Food Sourcing” by experts from Ministry of International Trade and Industry(MITI) of Malaysia, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of ROK, Korea Customs Service and Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation(aT).
