Myanmar’s Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and the Myanmar Tourism Federation co-hosted the ‘Korea Day 2019’ event for two days on March 9-10 at the Lotte Hotel Yangon. The event aimed to foster bilateral cultural exchange between Korea and Myanmar and attest the popularity of the K-Wave within Myanmar.

Various distinguished guests including H.E. Thura U Aung Ko of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, H.E. U Phyo Min Thein of the Yangon Region Government, H.E. Lee Sang-wha, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and South Korean singer Baek Ji-young attended the event to deliver congratulatory remarks. The celebration was held along with other events including K-pop concerts, seminars, and product exhibitions.

Over 4,000 guests and around 50 businesses (including travel agencies, airlines, entertainment companies, hotels, international schools, cosmetics companies, and others) participated in this successful event.
