ASEAN HALL [COMPLETE] 2022.05.11
On May 11, 15 students from Magok Hanui Middle School participated in the AKC’s Online School Tour program. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, ASEAN-Korea Centre has continued to actively engage students in its programs not only face to face but also via online platforms.
Students virtually visited the Centre through a VR video played at the beginning of the program and learned about ASEAN through the ‘ASEAN-Korea We are Friends’ video. Following the video showcasing, Lee Kyeong-A, Director of ASEAN Hall, gave a presentation on ASEAN-Korea relations and career at the international organizations. Student also participated in ASEAN Golden Bell quiz, so they can learn more about ASEAN in interesting and fun ways. In this School Tour, ASEAN officials from Malaysia and Lao PDR introduced their countries to students and answered their questions real-time. Students showed interest in two countries’ marriage culture, monsoon climate, festivals, education systems and competitions for college admission, and also whether the people of the two countries know a lot about Korean culture, especially K-pop. The program was wrapped up by ASEAN 3D puzzle making and group photos.
The following is a testimonial from student who participated in School Tour program:
“It was so much fun today. I got to learn about Southeast Asia’s culture, language, and so on. I didn’t get bored at all because we also had a quiz and puzzle making. Overall, it was a good time and will help me later because I learned a lot. I want to visit ASEAN countries someday!”
