ASEAN HALL [COMPLETE] 2022.10.04 ~ 2022.10.20
Since the Covid-19 outbreak, ASEAN-Korea Centre has continued to actively engage students in its programs not only face to face but also via online platforms. On October 4, 6, 18, and 20, ASEAN-Korea Centre conducted online and offline School Tour for 179 students from Takpittayakhom School (offline), Jangnae Middle School (offline), Sangmyung University Girls’ Middle School (offline), and Cheongshim International Academy (online).
Students learned about ASEAN through the ‘ASEAN-Korea We are Friends’ video followed by presentation on ASEAN-Korea relations and career at the International Organizations. Student also participated in ASEAN Golden Bell quiz, so they can learn more about ASEAN in interesting and fun ways. Additionally, ASEAN officials from Brunei, Laos, and Malaysia took rounds participating in the programs to introduce their country and interact with the students.
The following is the testimonial from student who participated in School Tour program:
“It was good to learned about ASEAN countries that I didn’t familiar with and it was my first time to know about Brunei Darussalam. I’d like to visit ASEAN countries for travel someday”.
The ASEAN-Korea Centre organizes the School Tour and Youth Visit Program with the aim of raising the awareness of ASEAN and ASEAN-Korea partnership among youths from primary school to university level.
Under the Ministry of Education’s initiative, ‘Ggoomgil’, the Centre has been offering the ASEAN School Tour programs that provide students, not only Korean but also students from all ASEAN Member States, with the opportunities to experience cultural aspects of ASEAN Member States and gives a glimpse of the potential career at an intergovernmental organization.
In the situation of COVID-19, the Centre is conducting the visit programs in strict compliance with the preventive measure guidelines and taking thorough disinfection and sterilization measures for each visit.
