The ASEAN-Korea Centre held the ´ASEAN-Korea Tourism Capacity Building Workshop´ in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR on April 20.

*The ASEAN-Korea Centre has been organizing the “ASEAN-Korea Tourism Capacity Building Workshop’ in ASEAN Member States since 2009 with the objective to enhance tourism competitiveness of ASEAN and further develop the capacity of the ASEAN tourism sector.

The ‘ASEAN-Korea Tourism Capacity Building Workshop’ discussed different approaches for developing sustainable tourism products to bolster the Lao PDR’s tourism industry, which has been heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, the aim of the Workshop was also to enhance understanding on digital marketing strategies and tourism products to actively entice Korean tourists.

Representatives from the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), Hanyang University Tourism Department, and hospitality and tech startup (ONDA) participated as speakers to present the Korean travel trends, sustainable tourism development, and digital marketing strategies.
