The ASEAN-Korea Centre organized the ‘2022 ASEAN Youth Career Mentorship’ on October 29, 2022, at the International Conference Room located in Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Seoul Campus. The program was held in collaboration with HUFS Southeast Asian Studies Center to provide related information to ASEAN students who are interested in starting a career in Korea. 16 ASEAN students who are currently studying in Korea participated in the offline program.
In Session 1, students had the opportunity to hear from a career consultant from HUFS Career Development Center on current trends in Korean job market and advice for preparing CVs and cover letters for Korean companies. Meanwhile in Session 2, information on Korean work visa and visa issuance procedure was provided by an expert lawyer from Pureum Law Office. Lastly, four ASEAN youth mentors who are currently working in the international organization, business/finance, and IT/Engineering sectors in Korea also joined the program to conduct breakout sessions with the students where they shared their personal experiences on the employment process in Korea, as well as on life in the Korean work environment.
