The ASEAN-Korea Centre organised the ‘2019 ASEAN-Korea Academic Conference’ on 28 August at ASEAN Hall in commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-Korea Dialogue Relations and the 10th Anniversary of the ASEAN-Korea Centre. Under the theme of ‘Innovation, Technology and Creativity in ASEAN-Korea Higher Education,’ ASEAN and Korean scholars and educators shared the leading trends, experience of e-Learning in Higher Education, and ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of education. The Conference, which was jointly organised with the Ministry of Education, and Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS), was attended by 130 participants from various sectors including government, academia and media.

The official inauguration of the Council of ASEAN Professors in Korea (CAPK) was held at the Conference with the support of the ASEAN-Korea Centre. The first President, Dr. Joeffrey M. Calimag, Professor at the University of Ulsan, was nominated. The celebration was attended by Ambassadors from Cambodia, the Philippines and Viet Nam, as well as officials from the ten ASEAN Embassies.
