ASEAN HALL [COMPLETE] 2018.11.01 ~ 2018.11.30
With the aim of increasing awareness and understanding about ASEAN and international exchange and collaboration among the youths, AKC has regularly conducted the ASEAN School Tour/Youth Visit Program at the ASEAN Hall.
During the month of November, ASEAN-Korean Centre (AKC) had about 180 students from 8 schools participating in its School Tour Program. Students had a glimpse of what it would be like working in an intergovernmental organization and enjoyed special lectures pertaining to ASEAN member states.
[Program for Middle Schools]
For the month of November, there were approximately 135 students that participated in the school program. Here, students were not only able to learn about AKC as an intergovernmental organization, but also enjoyed partaking in various cultural activities through singing traditional songs and poster making.
Date(s): 2, 8, 9, 13 and 23 November (Total: 5 sessions)
Participants: Hyewon Girls’ Middle School, Hangang Middle School, Shindong Middle School, Hansan Middle School and Shindorim Middle School (Total: 135 students, 5 teachers)





[Program for High School students]
A total of 51 high school students participated in the school tour program for the month of November. Students learnt more about AKC as an intergovernmental organization, and further brought their questions in a roundtable discussion session.

Participants: Jamsil Girls’ High School, Model- UN Club, Sejong High School and Gyesung High School




In 2018, under the Ministry of Education’s initiative, ‘Kkumgil’, the AKC has been tasked to increase greater awareness and understanding of Korean students on ASEAN. AKC’s School Tour Program provides students with the opportunity to experience cultural aspects of ASEAN member states and gives a glimpse of what a potential career at an intergovernmental organization could look like.
Held all year-round at the ASEAN Hall of the AKC, 2018 ASEAN School Tour Program consists of diverse educational parts: △ ASEAN Talk with AKC’s ASEAN Officials seconded to the AKC, △ Special Lecture on International Organization and career experience, △ ASEAN Quiz Contest, △ Creative cultural activities, etc.
