On 12 October, a group of 40 graduate students, Dean and Professors from the Business School of Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia visited the ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC). They took part in a Special Youth Visit program at the AKC’s ASEAN Hall located at 8th floor of the Press Center Building in the downtown of Seoul. The welcoming remarks were delivered by Mr. Kim Chang-nyun, Head of Development Planning and General Affairs Unit (DPGAU) of AKC, in which he emphasized how youths played an integral part in helping to further enhance ties between Indonesia and South Korea.

Ms. Kim Min-ji, Officer of the DPGAU, then gave a briefing on the importance of ASEAN as a partner to Korea, and the development and pivotal role of AKC in enhancing ASEAN-Korea partnership with regards to economic and socio-cultural aspects.

In addition, a Roundtable discussion and Q&A session was conducted by Mr. Phan The Thang, Deputy Head of Information and Data Unit (IDU), and Madam Siti Tri Joelyartini, Deputy Head of DPGAU. In the session, questions from participating students were answered regarding the emergence and influence of ASEAN as a trade hub at the global market.

This was followed by Professor Noer Azam Achsani’s brief introduction of Bogor Agricultural University, on how it focuses not just on Agriculture, but on other fields of study as well. To conclude, Professor Achsani expressed his thanks to the AKC for providing the opportunity to collaborate with Bogor Agricultural University, and expressed his wish for future collaborations with the AKC.

The ASEAN Hall of ASEAN-Korea Centre conducts the youth visit program with the aim of raising the awareness of ASEAN and ASEAN-Korea partnership among youths from primary school to university students level.
