The ASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary General Kim Young-sun) and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry(KCCI) jointly organized the 5th ASEAN Connectivity Forum, on November 29th, 2017 at the Grand Hall of the KCCI.
H.E. Kim Young-sun, Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre, Mr. Kim Jun-dong, Executive Vice President of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, H.E. Son Byeong-suk, Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea, H.E. Yoon Soon-gu, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, H.E. Bambang Brodjonegoro, Minister of National Development Planning of Indonesia, Mr. Aung Naing Oo, Director General of the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, H.E. Ambassador Elizabeth P. Buensuceso, Chairwoman of the ASEAN Connectivity Coordinating Committee, ASEAN Ambassadors and delegations from ASEAN Member States, financial experts, Korean businessmen in the transport, energy, and ICT sectors, and journalists attended the Forum.
At the first session, experts from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank (WB), Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM), and Macquarie Capital presented and discussed on ASEAN infrastructure projects and financial solutions.
Followed by the first session, official luncheon was hosted by the ASEAN-Korea Centre. Mr. Sul Kyung-hoon, Vice President of KOICA, was invited to deliver a special speech on ODA policies of KOICA, and Mr. Aung Naing Oo, Director General of DICA, has made a toast as the ASEAN representative.
At the second session, delegations from ASEAN Member States introduced ASEAN Connectivity-related infrastructure projects and policy directions in the fields of transport, energy, and ICT.
The next day, on November 30th, 2017, financial experts and ASEAN delegations have also conducted one-on-one business meetings with the Korean business community to provide up-to- date information of infrastructure projects for investment opportunities in ASEAN.
