The winners of the 2018 ASEAN-Korea Academic Essay Contest participated in the Study Trip to Thailand on 14-18 January 2019. During the 5-day Study Trip, the winners visited governmental, academic and ASEAN-related institutions based in Thailand.

The Study Trip began with a visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand. The winners were briefed with Thailand’s blueprints as the ASEAN Chair for 2019. Also, the winners were invited to a radio interview by Saranrom Radio, where they introduced about the Academic Essay Contest and their winning essays.
Following the visit to MFA Thailand, the winners visited the ROK Embassy in Thailand. There, the students were welcomed by H.E. Lee Wook-heon, the ROK Ambassador to Thailand, and they had an opportunity to earn about the Korea-Thai relations.


During the Study Trip, the students also visited a number of academic and ASEAN-related institutions including Thammasat University, Burapha University, C ASEAN, ASEAN Cultural Center, and ASEAN University Network. The participants also had a unique opportunity to visit the very site of the foundation of ASEAN in Bang Saen, where the founding fathers of ASEAN had discussed about establishment of regional organization.





The participants also visited academic institutions including Thammasat University, ASEAN University Network and Burapha University and discussed about ASEAN-Korea relations and Korean studies in ASEAN.
