The Youth Workshop themed ‘My Amazing Thailand’ held in August-September at ASEAN Hall.

The Thai Book Exhibition displaying around 300 publications on Thailand to take place until 5 October.

The ASEAN-Korea Centre organized the Youth Workshop and the Thai Book Exhibition under the theme of ‘My Amazing Thailand’ at ASEAN Hall (8th floor, Press Center building) in Seoul in celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Korea. Both events are supported by the Royal Thai Embassy and the Association of Thai Studies in Korea.

The Youth Workshop was held on Wednesdays from 1 August to 5 September. It offered a wide range of programs, including a lecture on Thailand-Korea relations; Thai quiz contest; Thai traditional clothing experience; ‘My Amazing Thailand’ poster making; special talks on Thailand and ASEAN; as well as a career exploration activity. In addition, special sessions on Thailand and Thai-ROK relations have been also conducted by Mr. Sribhongse Bunnag, Second Secretary, Ms. Sarocha Rachawong and Ms. Pitchaya Maiboonkaew, Public Sector Development Officers from Royal Thai Embassy in Korea. The Youth Workshop composed of 5 sessions has been successfully completed in recording the number of 200 attendees including junior and high school students, teachers, parents and experts for multicultural education, etc.

Furthermore, the Thai Book Exhibition has opened to the public from 1 August to 5 October at ASEAN Hall. This Thai book corner has provided around 300 publications on Thailand including books on history, architecture, culture, arts, and cuisine, travel guide books, children books as well as multimedia materials and illustrations.

The ASEAN-Korea Centre runs the ASEAN Hall, a multipurpose space which holds various exhibitions, lectures, and youth programs throughout the year. It is open to the public from 9:30am to 5:30pm on weekdays.

The First Session of the Youth Workshop was held August 1 at ASEAN Hall in attendance with 25 elementary and middle school students and their parents. Furthermore, several experts in multicultural education also attended the program.

The Second Session of the Youth Workshop was held August 8 at ASEAN Hall in attendance with 16 elementary and middle school students and their parents.

The Third Session of the Youth Workshop was held August 22 at ASEAN Hall in attendance with 30 students from Sungnam Highschool.

The Fourth Session of the Youth Workshop was held August 29 at ASEAN Hall in attendance with 32 students from Myoungil Girls’ Highschool.

The Fifth and last Session of the Youth Workshop was held 5 September at ASEAN Hall in attendance with 77 students (different nationals including Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, China, etc.) and teachers from Dasom Tourism High School. Dasom High School is specialized for multi-cultural children who have grown up abroad.
