ASEAN HALL [COMPLETE] 2021.07.01
ASEAN-Korea Centre kicked off its July ASEAN School Tour Program with Yeonbuk Middle School. On July 1st, a whopping number of 99 students from Yeonbuk Middle School participated in the online School Tour Program from the comfort of their homes.
Opening the program with a VR video tour of the centre, the students virtually arrived on the scene and were greeted by Lee Kyeong-a, Director of ASEAN Hall. After listening to the presentation on ASEAN, international organisations and AKC, the students joined in an interactive activity-namely the ‘ASEAN Golden Bell Quiz’’ to test their knowledge on ASEAN. In order to help further broaden their knowledge and understanding of ASEAN, ASEAN officials from Brunei and Malaysia joined in the program to share stories of their respective countries with the students. The students had the chance to make puzzles of the ASEAN map whilst carrying on a lively discussion on food, travelling, games and customs with both officials.
The following is a testimonial from a student:
“I've heard of the word ASEAN before, but I didn't know what it meant. So it was a good learning opportunity. I was surprised to learn that ASEAN is made up of 10 member countries. I knew about countries such as Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Singapore, but I had never heard of countries such as Brunei and Laos until today. I enjoyed getting to know the cultures of various countries and participating in the activities was also fun. I hope next time I can come visit to participate in the program.”
