On 1 June 2018, Secretary General Lee Hyuk was invited to the 'International Conference on Korea and Vietnam in the Modern and Contemporary Ages' to deliver a keynote speech titled "Vietnam's Place in ASEAN and Korea Relations".

Though his speech, Secretary General emphasized Vietnam's growing role in the ASEAN-Korea partnership.

The International Conference on Korea and Vietnam in the Modern and Contemporary Ages was held for 2 days from 1-2 June 2018, sponsored by Seoul National University Asia Center, International Institute for Asian Studies and Seoul National University Research Team for Emerging Markets.
