Seoul, Korea– The ASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary General Lee Hyuk) delivered 3 million Korean won of donation for flood relief in Lao PDR to the Embassy of the Lao PDR in Seoul on 6 August. Lee Hyuk, Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre, met with Khamsouay Keodalavong, Ambassador of the Lao PDR to Korea, to express his sympathy and wished for the speedy recovery of the affected area.

Secretary General Lee Hyuk noted that, “The Korean government and people are all united in helping Lao people in their strenuous efforts to make the quick recovery. The Korea Disaster Relief Team is already in the disaster-hit area and Korean people are continuously making donations. The ASEAN-Korea Centre staff members have also voluntarily collected a modicum of donations to show our unwavering support to the Lao people’s relief efforts. I believe Korea’s response on the heels of the disastrous event showed that we consider Lao PDR as our true friend and neighbor. I sincerely hope that the affected area will recover from the damage as soon as possible.”
