On 26-27 February 2018, the ASEAN Korea Centre held its 11th Annual Meeting of the Council in Seoul. The Council is the supreme decision-making body of the AKC, and is comprised of senior representatives of relevant ministries as well as Embassies in the 10 ASEAN Member States and the Republic of Korea, one representative from each Member Country of the AKC.

The Council reviewed and evaluated the programs of the AKC carried out in FY2018 and approved the Draft Annual Work Program and Budget for FY2019, which was based on an overarching theme titled “Connecting People, Sharing Prosperity.” Under this theme, the Secretariat will focus on the following three key deliverables: building a closer community between ASEAN and Korea; strengthening cooperation between ASEAN and Korea for innovation- and creativity-driven growth; and promoting activities that connect hearts and minds of peoples of ASEAN and Korea.

Furthermore, a total of 180 distinguished guests and stakeholders from international organizations, foreign missions, media, academia and private and cultural sectors attended the Reception held on 18 February, in celebration of the 11th Annual Meeting of the Council and the 10th Anniversary of the AKC.
