‘2021 ASEAN Trade Fair’ to bolster trade between ASEAN and Korea in food and beverage sector
- ASEAN-Korea Centre to hold the ‘ASEAN Trade Fair’ at the ‘Seoul international Cafe Show’ (10-13 November, COEX Hall B2, Seoul) -
Seoul, Korea - The ASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary General Kim Hae-yong) will organize the ‘2021 ASEAN Trade Fair’ on 10-13 November 2021 at COEX (Hall B2) in Seoul. The Fair, which will be held in conjunction with ‘2021 Seoul International Cafe Show’, aims to showcase ASEAN food and beverage (F&B) products as well as facilitate business partnerships between ASEAN and Korean F&B companies.
43 companies from 10 ASEAN Member States will introduce F&B products including drip and instant coffee, Southeast Asian tea, fruit and coconut juice products as well as snack, home meal replacements, seasoning and various sauce at the exhibition. Korean companies seeking business opportunities with ASEAN companies can apply for 1:1 online business meetings. As all the participating ASEAN companies have been recommended by the 10 governments of ASEAN Member States (AMS), the trade fair will be a valuable opportunity for many Korean companies seeking reliable partners in ASEAN. Meanwhile, Korea’s import of ASEAN agriculture and food products have increased three-fold over the past decade recording 3.2 billlion US dollars in 2020. With growing popularity of Southeast Asian food and seasoning products as well as home meal replacements, the volume of imports from ASEAN region is expected to grow in the future.
The ASEAN-Korea Centre has been organizing the ASEAN Trade Fair since 2009 to promote ASEAN products and facilitate their entry into the Korean market and, by doing so, to strengthen a more mutually beneficial trade relationship. Over the years, the Centre has showcased various products, based on the needs of both sides, by taking part in exhibition such as the ‘Seoul International Seafood Show’, ‘Korea International Furniture & Interior Fair’, and ‘Global Game Exhibition’ among others.
