ASEAN and Korea to promote trade and sustainable market expansion inthe food and beverage sector

- ASEAN-Korea Centre to hold the ‘ASEAN Trade Fair 2022’ (7-10 June, KINTEXExhibition 1, Hall 4, Ilsan) in conjunction with SEOUL FOOD 2022 and co-host the ‘Seminar on ASEAN-Korea Trade Facilitation in F&B Industry’ (28 June,Westin Chosun, Seoul) with Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) -


 

ASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary General KimHae-yong) will organize the ‘ASEAN Trade Fair 2022’ at KINTEX, Ilsan from 7-10June, 2022. Held in conjunction with ‘SEOUL FOOD 2022’, the exhibition will showcasefood and beverage (F&B) products from ASEAN and will provide opportunities forASEAN companies to network and establish business partnerships with Koreandomestic buyers. Delegations from 45 companies of 10 ASEAN countries and representativesfrom related government agencies will participate in the event.

 

ASEAN F&B products ranging from coffee, tea, snacks, desserts, home mealreplacements, sauces and spices will be exhibited at the event. In line with risingglobal trends for a more sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle in the post-COVID-19era, the exhibition will also showcase organic, vegan and halal products aswell as eco-friendly cookware and packaging products. Food tasting will also beopen for visitors at the pavilion. To support the promotion of sustainable F&Bpartnerships between ASEAN and Korean, domestic companies can avail toparticipate in 1:1 business meetings with ASEAN F&B companies either viathe online business platform (https://online.seoulfood.or.kr)or offline at the ASEAN Pavilion in Hall 4, KINTEX.

 

As a follow-up event, the ASEAN-KoreaCentre will also be hosting a ‘Seminar on ASEAN-Korea Trade Facilitation inF&B Industry’ with Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) on June 28,2022 from 14:00 (KST). At the seminar, experts and government officials fromboth ASEAN and Korea will share on key F&Btrends, prospects and the inspection system of imported foods in Korea, as wellas discussed on the opportunities to enhance ASEAN-Korea F&B Trade throughthe utilization of FTAs such as RCEP and AKFTA. Additionally, the seminar willalso showcase exemplary ASEAN and Korean companies to facilitate knowledgesharing on the best practices and practical information for entering ASEAN andKorean markets.

 

The ASEAN-KoreaCentre has been organizing various exhibitions and seminars since 2009 with theobjective to facilitate trade and support market expansion of ASEAN SMEs inKorea and towards building a more reciprocal economic partnership between thetwo regions.
