ASEAN-Korea Centreparticipates in NextRise 2022 to enhance ASEAN-Korea partnershipthrough startups

Seoul,Korea-TheASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary General Kim Hae-yong) will participate in NextRise2022 which will be held at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul from June 16 to 17. NextRise2022 is one of the largest global startup fairs in Asia organized by the KoreaDevelopment Bank (KDB) and Korea International Trade Association (KITA). ASEAN-KoreaCentre will take part in the exhibition booth to promote promising ASEAN startupsand share information about the startup ecosystems across ASEAN Member States throughvideos and startup pitch presentations. Opportunities to promote new business partnerships between ASEAN andKorean companies will also be available through 1:1 business meetings.
About twentypromising ASEAN startups nominated by their respective governments from diversesectors including artificial intelligence, e-commerce, fintech, agriculturalmachinery service platform, and logistics & transport platform will be participatingin NextRise 2022. Information on the participating startups, the startupecosystems in ASEAN and Korea, as well as exemplary cases of companydevelopment experiences will be introduced at the AKC booth. Startup supportprograms, funding information, and available incentives for startups in ASEANand Korea will also be shared through promotional videos produced by AKC.
In this year’sevent, the winner of the 2021 ASEAN-Korea Startup Week pitching contest, JalatLogistics (Cambodia), is also expected to attend and introduce their IoT-based logisticsplatform business model to venture capitalists in attendance. The presentation willtake place in a session under the “KDB NextRound with KITA: Global Startups inNextRise” to be held on June 16 at the Round Stage. Jalat Logistics is a PhnomPenh based last mile logistics company that provides affordable same-daydelivery and advocates an eco-friendly business model.
Additionally, theASEAN-Korea Centre has been hosting the ‘ASEAN-Korea Startup Week’ annuallysince 2018 to nurture startups in the ASEAN region and build a foundation forcooperation between ASEAN and Korea. This year, this event is scheduled to beheld in September and October, where seed level and series A startups fromASEAN will again be invited to take part in the program for capacity-building, investorrelations pitching, and business meetings with venture capitalists and potentialinvestors.
