Discussions on Smart and Sustainable Tourism after Covid-19

The ASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary-General Kim Hae-yong) will hold the “Seminar on ASEAN-Korea Culture and Tourism 2022” on Tuesday, 26 April via Youtube live streaming. Co-organized by the Korea Tourism Organization and Travie (Korea’s leading travel magazine), the webinar will seek ways to build a strong, resilient, and sustainable tourism through digitalization especially after the pandemic. Group workshop will take place on the second day to share practical know-hows from industry experts in Korea. (※ please refer to the guide and attached program on the link below).
The Webinar will begin with the keynote speech by Mr. Sergio Guerreiro, the Chair of OECD Tourism Committee, followed by two sessions. In the first session, presenters from ASEAN Secretariat, Incheon Tourism Organization, and Unique Good Company, one of the leading tourism start-ups in Korea, will introduce ways for ‘digital transformation in the tourism industry’. Second session will focus on how sustainable tourism can be achieved by digitalization. Speakers from Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Korean Air, Jeju Olle will join the session to share their practices on sustainable tourism by digitalization.
Following the Webinar, the group workshop will be organized on 27 April, focusing on smart tourism via metaverse and digital marketing. Unity Korea, a global software developer, will explore possible utilization of metaverse in the tourism industry, and Unique Good Company and Korea Tourism Organization will introduce digital marketing strategies. Pre-registration will be available until 26 April, and certificates will be issued for those who attend the second day program.
As transition toward smart tourism and sustainable tourism is now becoming prevailing trend in the industry, the seminar will provide a platform to discuss prospects and potential cooperation in the tourism industry in ASEAN and Korea.
