ASEAN and Koreancompanies seek to expand cooperation in bio/pharmaceutical/health ingredientsindustries

- ‘ASEAN-Korea Bio Partnering Week’ to be held in conjunction with the CPHIKorea 2022 (Sep 28-30) -

- 22 companies from 8 ASEAN countries to join exhibition and conductonline meetings -


 

Seoul, Korea - The ASEAN Korea Centre (Secretary GeneralKim Hae-yong) will organize the ‘ASEAN-Korea Bio Week 2022’ from September 28to 30, 2022 in conjunction with the “CPHI Korea 2022,” one of the prominentglobal pharma exhibitions. 22 companies from 8 ASEAN Member States ? BruneiDarussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand? will introduce their major products, and explore new partnership opportunitieswith Korean counterparts through participation in exhibitions and onlinebusiness meetings.

 

With increasing demands for international collaborationin disease control, public health, and medical sectors since the onset of the pandemic,companies from various fields such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, medical devices,and supplement products will take part in the program. ASEAN delegateswill conduct online business meetingswith Korean investors and companies to seek cooperation and explore businessopportunities in the import/export of products and services, investmentconsultations, establishment of joint ventures, marketing, R&D, technicalcooperation, and others.

 

On this occasion, the Centre will also hold a seminar on September30 to introduce ASEAN-Korea health cooperation policies as well as share casestudies on business partnerships in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticalsand health industries. Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare and the MalaysianInvestment Development Authority (MIDA) will participate as speakers. In theseminar, the Ministry of Health and Welfare will introduce ways for cooperationand share major points from the first ASEAN-ROK Health Ministers´ Meeting thatwas held in Indonesia last May. Meanwhile, the MIDA will present on the bio,pharmaceuticals, and health markets in Malaysia and ASEAN, as well as shareexample cases of ASEAN-Korea business collaborations. The seminar is expectedto provide a platform for in-depth discussions between ASEAN and Koreanbusinesses on ways to establish and strengthen cooperation in the bio, pharmaceuticals,and health industries.
