ASEAN and Korea to discuss practical cooperation in Food and Beverage industry

Seoul, Korea - The ASEAN-Korea Centre (Secretary General Kim Hae-yong) and Korea Importers Association (KOIMA) will host the ‘Webinar on Trade Facilitation on F&B Industry between ASEAN and Korea’ on Wednesday, October 27, 2021. The event will be held both online and offline in accordance with social distancing regulations and will be livestreamed through the ASEAN-Korea Centre’s YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/akcsns).
The Seminar is designed to facilitate information exchange and provide new business opportunities for companies in the food and beverage sector in ASEAN and Korea. During the event, F&B companies and related government officials from ASEAN and Korea will also share best practices for entering ASEAN and Korean markets. Discussions on effective ways to utilize the ASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreement (AKFTA) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), once the latter agreement comes into effect, will also be some of the key highlights of the event.
The Seminar will cover wider areas that are important for accelerating regional trade relations with special lectures on “Plant Quarantine Procedures,” “Safety Control Policy for Imported Foods in Korea,” “Import Customs Procedures,” “Sourcing F&B market trend in Korea,” “Sourcing trend of Coffee market in Korea,” and “Case Study on ASEAN Food Sourcing” by experts from Ministry of International Trade and Industry(MITI) of Malaysia, Ministry of Food and Drug Safety of ROK, Korea Customs Service and Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation(aT).
As a follow-up event, the ASEAN-Korea Centre will organize the “ASEAN Trade Fair” in conjunction with the Seoul International Cafe Show from 10-13 November at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center (Coex). The four-day fair will showcase ASEAN F&B products such as coffee, tea and dessert products.
